i read yu have to hand in license to local tax office for 6 months but whats the procedure to getting it back?..anyone able to help me to understand etc?

I'm pretty certain speed limits are dictated by the signs on the road. Not what you judge them to be. Speeding for a minor amount of speed is speeding whether you decide it is "ridiculously slow" or not is another matter. You were speeding. Perhaps stay within the speed limits in future, despite your opinion of them and you won't lose your license.

,,,thanx for the advise!/// dont get me started on clear speed signs etc,,,imnot a fast driver, before this systemt came in i never ever had a traffic viollation in 20 years, rarely go over 60mph on motorways etc..so am just frustrated that for years of steady driving i get nailed for a handfull of times when only just over limit etc...its just frustrating.,.we knowww the main culprits are the dangerous speedo's who blaze away on our roads killing people etc...its frustrating to be put in same bracket as them dont yu think!?

anyway maybe yu know the procedure for getting license back??

    cheers..Baggio...

I'd be less worried about someone who drives fast but is observant than I would be about someone who drives at a "nice steady 55mph" everywhere but can't even look out for a speed limit sign. What other mandatory traffic signs do you routinely ignore?

Unfortunately they don't give out motorway dawdling credits to offset other traffic offences.

just curious to wonder - each time you got done how much over the speed limit were you? Was it always more then 10%?

I do feel sorry if someone gets done borderline and they not bombing it shall we say. A mate of mine has 6 points and he is a very steady driver so I guess you can be unlucky.

OMG you don't go at 120kph on the motorway? How is that safe. You are holding up other traffic and it is more dangerous for yourself as people are not expecting you to go at that speed. 100kph is not some magic speed where accidents don't happen. It depends on the road a b road and 100kph is too fast and on a motorway it's too slow. I presume from the sound of your post that when you see a lower speed limit you hardly/don't bother slow down as you drive at the perfect speed to deal with everything.

To answer your question without going into a load of judgemental BS I think you just phone your local motor tax office when the 6 months is up and they'll post it back to you.

I imagine there is a set procedure and they probably have a leaflet detailing it. Ask, when you are returning your licence.

    speeding losers ....

Sorry for attacking you OP. But sometimes i.e on a motorway, speeding is better than going too slow. Good luck with the licence.

i live down the n78 and there are two 60kmh zones, on either side of the zones the rest of the road are at 100kmh. constantly and annoyingly every day there are people who go at 80kmh for the whole length of the road, they do not speed up for the 100 zones and do not slow down for the 60 zones, really annoys me as it is a hard road to overtake on that road most of the time, and if they went on the road at or near the speed limits you would get less people trying to overtake them on dangerous occasions.
