Not sure if this qualifies under retro or not as it is still available and quite popular in the Cork area. However I know from relatives in some parts of Ireland that they never heard of it. So have you heard of it and is it still out there where you live?

It's a type of red lemonade - tasty stuff too. I remember seeing tv adverts for it in the early the 90s so it must have been widely available then.

It has recently become available again for the first time in years in Kerry. I have a 500ml bottle of it on my desk right now.

and we could not keep the vending machines in tanora stock. We had, I think it was, 3 vending machines. 1 had ONLY tanora and the others were half tanora. You could practically TASTE the chemicals and E-numbers. As the OP said, was a BIG Cork thing but me mates from outside Cork had never heard of it. I can only imagine what was in it. Jeebus. Did someone say it was still on sale? Thought it would have been made illegal. :)

Tanora is fierce popular here in Cork!

It's lovely actually....really nice drink and brings back memories of having dinner in my Nans when I was still in primary school.

Actually she always always always has at least a bottle in the house because it helps her blood sugars (she's a diabetic).

I find it good when you have a cold by the way....a cup of hot Tanora and two Panadol just before going to sleep has often gotten rid of the odd cold for me.

I had never heard of it until about 3 or 4 years ago when some shops in Limerick started selling it - around the same time I started seeing Irn Bru here as well come to think of it. I think it tastes less fake than Fanta.
