Can you hellp me out here, I am going to Rome on wednesday. I need a hotel that is central or at least on one of the tourist bus routes as I intend using the bus to get around the sights.

Dont want to spent a fortune but also dont want a dump ;) usual I hear you say.. around 100 to 150 a night I think... but would prefer to stay nearer the bottom end of the estimate if at all possible.

I need it from wednesday to saturday..

    Thanks for your time !

Would highly recommend Hotel Pulitzer (http://www.hotelpulitzer.it/).

It's a little out of the city in EUR but it is right beside a metro ststion (about 10-15 mins from Termini) and it is also on great day and night bus routes.

I stayed there twice during the summer and it was amazing value and very plush.

The only downside (if you can call it a downside) it that outside the hotel at night a fair amount of hookers hang around. But they DON'T use the hotel.

    LOL

I think we paid 99 room only for a double (double room that is - jeez you'd have to be so careful with the phrasing ;-)

You should stay near the main train station, Termini. I've been to Rome a few times.

http://www.hotel-continentale.com/ - stayed here twice before. Nice location 5 min walk from train station. Nice clean hotel. No complaints.

Stayed in one of the following but can't remember which. All located about 1 min walk from train station and all good reviews:
