Was asked to photography a conference at the weekend for a friend. Two Irish newspaper journalists were there and one of them asked me would I be interested in doing some freelance work on the side for the newspaper....saying that they have no one around this area that they can call to do some work if needs be.
He did say that I would get paid for the photo's I send in to them.

What I would like to know is would this be something to consider? Has anyone been in same situation? If so, then what would the money be like?

I'm not a professional photographer but have a good bit of knowledge in the area and have a decent Nikon D80 along with a few lens etc...

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers.

Find out what you will be paid in advance and if its per picture does that depend on the size they print it at.

Yup. Get onto the NUJ for advice with regards to payment etc and the going rates these days. But don't turn it down, handy little earner.
