Just hooked up my PS3 this afternoon (mostly to get the updates for Uncharted, Burnout and Madden. While there, I signed up to PSN and had a look around the store. Can anyone tell me if I want to buy something from there, do I have to sign up for billing on PSN or is there anything like the Xbox Live cards, where I can purchase credit online and then redeem it in the store?

I top up my PSN wallet with a 3v voucher , the PSN pre-paid cards are not available in Europe yet afaik.

There are plans for Live Card-style things to come in the future but at the moment they're only in the states, and sparse. Only way at the moment is to buy with a credit card...

Or 10$ on the us store. Might not work though.

    Pain

NAY! Pain isn't that great. I would suggest Super Stardust HD, Riff: Everyday Shooter, Pixel Junk Monsters or Bionic Commando Rearmed.

Yeah, Pain isn't especially good... It's entertaining for a while, and if you've got money to burn then there's no harm in buying it. I would definitely prioritise buying Stardust HD before it though... Awesome game!

Pain's not that bad, it just has no longevity in the gameplay. SSHD is stunning.

If there were 2 games you need to get off PSN right this second it's WipeoutHD and Bionic Commando. Two of the most attractive and fun games ever... just those two alone are worth the price of a PS3.

Your brother will still find it hard to get a hold of a card anyway... but the honest answer is I don't know...

You can enter them into your us account, but I'm not sure if it will work on the irish game.

Might buy meself something cheap of it and see if it works

The cards are now more widespread than before, wallmart best buy etc.... so should be east to pick up.

And you can use them on the US store, just enter the code in your account management option.

I have a Irish account and US account and I buy all my games from the US store and play them under my irish account.

Got wipeout for 13 Euro on friday.
