I'm not trying to be funny, but when I was young free and single I used to climb into my bed night after night without making it and I rarely saw dust. Now that I'm more houseproud and make my bed every morning I find the room caked in dust the whole time and dusting just seems to move it from one place to another

    Not a solution - sorry!

A can of deodorant and a lighter will sort that pesky dust out real good...

Get some Fairy washing up liquid and boiling water, put it in a basin, and get a mop, and mop your ceiling.

Works every time - Remember, lots of water.

Dust bunnies under your bed? No problem! If you're nice, get them a carrot on a stick and lead them outdoors. If you're not nice, put a pan of water on the stove and start boiling.

Step 1: Douse you're room in petrol.

    Step 2: .....

    Step 3: Profit.

    Heres what you need.

Balloons, lots of them, preferably helium filled but air will do.
    Wooly Jumper
    Leafblower.

Blow up the balloons and statically charge each one by rubbing it against the wooly jumper for a short period of time. Repeat until the room is 20-30% filled with static balloons. If using helium balloons, tie them down so that they float roughly at half the height of the room. Now use the leafblower to rise all the dust in the room and it should fall and stick to the balloons, then all you need to do is remove the balloons.

Of course this may not work but i imagine it would be fun none the less. :D

EDIT: Oh and the leafblower should be electric for obvious reasons.

    Coat everything in cling film.

    It's the only way....

Maybe change what you're using to clean the dust with? I used to use dry j-cloth and furniture polish, switched to a static cling jml thing from dunnes that I just swish over stuff and it picks the dust up really well. Maybe also try find a place dust comes from ie. at my work the air con brings dust in from outside meaning we have to dust near daily!

Dust comes from human skin. What you do is kill people. No people, no dust.

Just strap two vacuum cleaners to yourself. Careful not to trip on the cords though.

Close your curtains to prevent the shafts of evening sunlight from illuminating the dust motes. Their ethereal twinkling will never bother you again. And hoover your mattress.
