so probably asked a dozen times but im gonna get someones name tattooed on my wrist, i want it to kinda spill out onto the sides of my hand so its gonna have to be pretty large. I just wanted advice from you guys on what kinda style would be best and if there was someone in dublin that kinda specialises in lettering? (new to this so excuse the silly questions). I noticed that JMD's in waterford had a good rep, if they could do what im looking for i wouldnt mind the trip down. any advice guys?

I'm superstitious so would never get anyone's name on me.
Pick a style or font you like yourself, look through micrsoft word or something similar for ideas.

Any decent tattoo artist should be able to handle simple lettering ink

Most tattooists will have a good selection of fonts in the shop and a lot of the good ones even have their own specialised fonts.

But take a look at http://www.1001fonts.com/ it has some pretty cool writing styles there. You can even type in your word of choice and see it written in that font.

I find www.dafont.com a good font resource as you can type in the phrase you want and see how it looks in a variety of styles.

Lettering (as long as its all one colour) is one of the least complex types of tattoo style so any half decent artist should accomadate you.

Personally speaking I wouldnt get someones name on me, have you considered getting a symbolic tattoo instead?

How much detail can go into a tat on your wrist? i'd really like something similar to this whereby the place that isnt tattooed is actually the name, obviously it would be alot different but similar style, is this possible?

negative space tattooing is possible, has to be large enough though. go talk to a tattoo artist about it all, they will help ya more than we ever could
