I am looking for good music for exercising, running and walking- can anyone recommend anything? Not neccessarily hard trance or dance but remixes and the like- can't seem to find anything in the shops and not sure what exactly I'm looking for online.

    thank you

I don't like to run, but when I do, I run to Prodigy - Fat of the land. Great album for it IMO.

If you have an iPod, you could try some of the Nike+ training music. You can find out more on iTunes.

A bit tongue in cheek here, but what about:
'Keep On Running' by The Spencer Davis Group. I think it was on the soundtrack to the film 'Buster'?

rocky soundtrack, well actually just "eye of the tiger" on repeat...or just listen to the voices in your head..

I try not to listen to music when I run. It can mess my pacing up without even realising it as the beat changes.

Children of Bodom - Follow The Reaper = the best album to run to.

There's a very good set of Nike+songs specifically Aesop Rocks Ready Mix, lasts about 50mins or so-its a nice one to run to.

thanks killme00, obviously I meant the Rocky Theme Tune...

Seriously though for running I tend to just let my mind wonder, the GF likes to use an IPod when running and swears by it - not sure what she listens to but. Sorry for being no help whatsoever :o

I like Guns n Roses for getting me up hills. Stuff like Attitude and Paradise city and 14 years, obviously, not November Rain or Civil war.

Some of them Nike + are OK

Running Man: Nike+ Original Run is pretty good.

PODRUNNER intervals are free to download on iTunes - they work towards building you up towards 10 k....using a variety of BPM (from 130 up to 170) to get you to run at different paces.

Growling Machines: Rounders is pretty good for running - teckno kind of stuff if that's your thing

Ministry: as in the industrial metal/rock kind of music (rather than Ministry of Sound) is pretty motivational.

Clubbed to death - rob d
world hold on - bob sinclair
    adagio for strings - tiesto
    l'amour toujour - gigi d'agostino
    exceeder - mason
smack my bitch up - prodigy
    voodoo people - " "
bidibodi bidibu - bubbles (absolutely amazing song)

    play in this order

last song helps you bang out the last strides

His song 'None shall pass' is probably THE best song for doing HIIT training too ever in the whole wide world.

I found this CD in a friend's place and it's a winner - The Tokyo Project by Hed Kandi.

I find Daft Punk & Basement Jaxx great too.

Haven't heard this tune in ages. Really good.

Khannie thinks that pol pot is one (third person) unit of pighead too late. :pac:

Iron Maiden "The loneliness of the long distance runner" :D

I find myself varying between Heavy Metal to dance music to get me through the run.
Something like Tiesto or William Orbit.
When the running gets harder I switch to music with good guitar solos in them like some of the Iron Maiden stuff like Live after Death, Stairway to Heaven, Hotel California, Stargazer by Rainbow, Sultans of Swing etc.
There's 60 minutes running with that selection (not all live after death) alone.

I often listen to vitalic - ok cowboy album when running. Really good. Its techno slash dance but will get you into a good running rhythm.
