Went out with the camera yesterday to see if there was any craic with a local fire - ended up taking pics of my cousin who lives doors away :D

First time properly processing a portrait in photoshop* (giving it a good workover) So by all means, lay in.

These being the second attempt on this pic, the first is still on flickr - due to some advice I re-worked it a little.

    Now let the C&C fly!

    * (gotta love alliteration)

Even at this early stage I can safely say I bet the original picture is far superior.
There is just too much done to the image, it looks unreal.

Also I c and c'd someone over on a diff forum and was hit with this classic line/

"I take it you haven't seen any of my work before.........."

    I could only reply with
"There are many ways I could reply to that line.
    Let's try this one "No?"

I feel I'm doomed, what if he's David Bailey's nephew or Lord Lichfields niece. :(

I for one welcome our orange child overlords.

Tbh, I like the pic, I like what you've done to it, apart from the orangeness of the kids face! Other than that I think it's very good!

Doesn't look that orange here (calibrated monitors) and tbh, he does actually have sallow-y skin!

Bit too much red in the shot but a great character portrait, and at the end of the day the customer/parents will be the ones who judge it and I would say they would love it. Well Done

I think #1 is a great shot - but a bit orangey for me too, for the record. :)

Good shot CM, what aperture were ya shooting at?

his skin is a little saturated alright. If I weren't lazy I'd get it up on the mac to see but maybe desaturate the skin a bit. The greens look cool though.

    +1 : strange guy

Anyway, as for the photo, I think you've overdone it a bit. The kid has come out too orange and glowing. it's a nice composition and well captured but the PP takes away from it
