Ive been using protein on and off for a bit but last few times ivebeen taking it dont feel the best during the day like lack of hunger and a very mild upset stomach. when i stop taking it im perfect.

Im assuming its my dosage thats wrong i take 2 scoops twice a day in the morning and before i sleep like recommended but i think it might be a bit much
My question is, whats the right amount and will taking less give less results, the brand is optimum nutrition 100% whey

    Cheers

Sometimes I get that pain, generally if you ignore it for a week or less (assuming it doesn't affect you in any other way) your stomach gets used to it. If you didn't drink milk for a year and then downed a pint you'd get the same pain (I know this from experience).

Is there creatine mixed in with your protein? This could be another cause of upset stomach, especially if taking it without eating beforehand.

Sounds like you are ever so slightly lactose intolerant. If it continues even after taking that amount for a while you could try spacing it out a little, maybe have one scoop in the morning, two after a workout and one before bed. If that doesn't work you should try taking less and replacing the protein lost with some good solid protein based foods.

I only ever have 2 scoops after a workout, i dont think its necessary to get as much of the stuff into you as you possibly can man.

Think i might try the spacing out thing after a bit, just guna see if i can used to it first, if neither work ill try cutting down like brendansmith said...i sound like a protein junky

Very little if any lactose in 100% whey as I think it's all isolates as opposed to concentrate. Might be wrong though.

    Check the date !!

I used to take whey before bed but it led to upset stomach, feeling a little bloated which let to indigestion/heart burn, now I just take some casein rich food about 2-3 hours before bed and things are much better. Not too advisable to take it before bed anyway, slow digesting protein is much better.

As for during the day try to take the whey after breakfast and again after training with a banana or something, whey can cause a bloated, general upset stomach when taken on empty stomach or with too much food for some people.
