Help with Syncing please?

I've purchased about half a dozen songs lately on iTunes, but only got around to syncing my iPod today. It tells me on iTunes that it has synced but the songs aren't there on my iPod. It has "do not disconnect" displayed for hours now and I have the latest version installed. No idea what the story is, it's never happened…

You need to reset your iPod, there are different ways depending on what type you have and what generation it is. Here's apple's support page for it.
