    A young swan suffered horrific injuries on Monday night after ingesting fireworks concealed in a piece of bread.

    The Dublin Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (DSPCA) said the bird’s beak was blown off and its tongue was shredded in the incident which happened at the Stardust Memorial Park, Coolock, Dublin.

    The animal was later humanely put down by a vet.

    The DSPCA has appealed for anyone with any information to call (01) 4935502.

    What possesses people to do these things? I just don't understand the mentality behind this kind of activity. If I ever saw anyone do something like that I wouldnt be responsible for my own actions. Disgusting. I hope they find these scumbags.
