    wondering what the following symbols is and what it means. its like a big capital Pi with space above it to write something like limits.

    You know how capital sigma is for adding a bunch of numbers for given parameters? Well the Pi one is for multiplication.

    Yep. Sigma => Sum. Pi => Product.
