So I sent my iPod into repair....

And I just checked the status of the repair on their website and they said they found no problem with it and they are sending it back to me. I'm pretty sure I'll get charged for it too which really annoys me. My Touch has the negative black screen issue. Apple Customer Care are gonna get a mouthfull tomorrow!! Anyone have any simulat issue? I'd love to know how you got it sorted.

Edit: I just want to be 110% sure I had the screen issue on my Touch so could someone please watch this podcast on their iPhone/Touch and tell me what the quality is like. I'd be very grateful. Here's the link:

I downloaded the Hubble Telescope episode and it looks fine on my 1st gen. iPhone - not the highest quality video, but nothing weird looking as far as colors go.

Yes I do but this it is more noticabel on this video. Coverflow seems to be okay but when I charge the iPod there is a greyish shimmering colour around the big battery icon. At the beginning of the podcast, it says "When we left earth" and there is a greenish/grey-ish colour around the words like in the picture below. Is this happen to you too? I really appreciate all of the help.

I am not sure but i have a feeling you have some damage due to moisture.

Dies not sound like a hardware fault.

I sent it to Apple for repair. This is my second iPod Touch. My last one had screen issues too and they sent me a new/refurbished iPod and now this iPod is giving me trouble. The shimmering black screen issue was a well known issue when the first batch of Touches were released. I think this iPod has this problem.

It's hard to tell if it's the photo but the letters in the beginning of that podcast don't look at all blurry on my iPhone - it's not the highest quality video and the lettering does lack some sharpness, but nothing like the blurriness of that photo.

The letters aren't actually that blury but you can see a green colour around the letters. That's what I can see in the video on the Touch but worse compared to the picture. Can you see the green when watching it on the iPhone?

Edit: Here's a better picture of the green colour.

Edit 2: Okay that's odd. When viewing that picture on my Touch, I can see that green colour but I can't see it on the computer. The screen must be broke on the Touch.

Yep, when looking at the second pic here, that's exactly how it looks on my iPhone - no green color outline or anything. It's gonna be a tricky problem I'm guessing though to get through to Apple - good luck with it.
