theres loads of places companies, you should have an industrial placement officer in your college who whould be in contact with the same companies that took on placement students last year.

If you dont have one of these, talk to the head of department and ask who deals with it.

If that gets you no-where, talk to the 4th years now, and find out where they went,

So companies i know take palcement students are AIG, AIB, Intel, IBM, hibernian (i think!), quinn-direct.

There all big companies, thats why im sure if its a comp sci departyment in any respectable college, there will be someone who has a point of contact in these companies to find any possible placement opportunities.

hosey, yea we have a placement officer here and he just mentioned a few companies that he dealt with before but said if we have any other places in mind then just let him know. basically we pick where we wanna work (i.e dublin, galway, cork) and he sends our cv to everyone he knows down there. heard mixed reports from 4th years bout good and bad places to work so just trying to check out all my options here so i can get a good placement, thanks
