Hi This is my first thread and I would be really happy if someone could help me!

I did my leaving cert an 2008 and I have done a lot of research into studying medicine and would really like to do it however I didn't get enough points.
Im taking a gap year and in Jan Im going to South Africa for 8 months where i'l be volunterring in a childrens home and il be in charge of the general health of the children.
I was wondering what would be the best degree to take when I get back to get into medicine?
Also what are the requirements to study abroad? I dont mind going anywhere! The fees is not a problem.

    Thanks!

    You could apply here: www.pms.ac.uk

Tis where I've just started. Cos you're from Ireland they'll put in you in Exeter for the first two years which is the nicest place I have yet been in :) The medical school rocks too :D

They asked for AAABB last year...one A in science and I think an A in an ordinary level subject, not sure. It's easy and I guess fair enough to assume that it could be a sub standard course because the grade requirement is lower than usual but so far they seem incredibly organised and the facilities are all new and modern (and the attitude). Also there were twelve applicants per place last year. The academic requirements are lower because they put a lot of emphasis on how you are viewed at interview and how you answer the questionnaire, and your PS.

Anyway, good luck with application. Remember the deadline for UCAS is sometime this October!
