Just wondering is it worth your while shopping around to buy a ski pass for a resort or is it better just to go with the one the travel agency offer?

I know savings can be had but is it worth the hassle?

    Anyone ever done this?

There is generally not any difference in the prices that you actually pay between what the TO offer you and what you'd pay in the resort itself as the TO's buy the passes for a slight reduction and then pocket the difference. It's mostly just for conveinience that I'd buy from the operator though as then I can get right on the slopes first thing the next day without having to queue up at the lift office, also means that I've already paid for it so can budget a bit better for it than needing to find a bundle more cash on arrival.

i always used to buy it first thing when i got in the resort as i'd always buy a carre neige as well (this is for skiing in France though), and i wouldn't trust a TO not to try and pull a fast one, but as robinph says they buy them at a discount, i'm probably just overly cynical, and no reason why not to buy them from the TO
