Garcia V Kim - Sunday 1st Hole

Can anyone set me straight as to what exactly happened at the first hole on Sunday? My understanding was that Kim made Garcia putt from 18 inches for a birdie and that Garcia in retaliation made Kim putt from inside him. I was told today that Garcia conceded that putt but from then on gave Kim nothing.

    Tnx

Yeh, that's pretty much it. They both knocked it in close. Garcia about 2-3 feet, Kim just slightly less. They both should really have picked up said right, let's move on. Neither budged.

Garcia knocked it in and then picked up Kim's marker and that was it. They both gave nothing the rest of the game and it set the game off on a pretty nasty tone.

Garcia was clearly upset that Kim made him putt on the first. But it was Kim's consistently great golf that got to Sergio more.

The bodycheck by Kim on Poulter wasn't caught on camera properly - Poulter was annoyed by it, but TBH its hard to believe it was intentional.

Garcia tried to annoy Kim on the 6th by trying to get relief by playing backwards but didn't work either.

Garcia tried to play mind games but ended up psyching himself out as Kim wasn't biting

I watched every shot of the Ryder Cup and Graeme's description of what happened on hole 1 between Kim and Garcia is spot-on.

However, although Garcia was faffing around a bit, Kim was also exacerbating the situation because when John Paramour (the referee) established that Garcia's stance was impeded beside the steps on hole 5 (IIRC) Kim came over and said something of the order ..."and that is a normal stance?" which was calling into question Garcia's and Paramour's integrity and then Kim just walked off and said "Well do what you have to do".

Kim is a very exciting player but what I saw in the first half dozen holes prompted me to text a mate and say that I felt that Kim was one annoying little 'so an so'.

Kim is the most irritating golfer around at presant.
He is overcompensating for the fact that he is Asian by being in your face USA.
He'll be wearing a cowboy hat next.

For me it was Kim playing the mind games because Garcia has shown before that you can get under his skin...

The worst thing about it is Garcia let it get to him. He should know better.
