    Hey,

Do any of you listen to music while you Snowboard or Ski? I have never done it myself but im going to buy myself a little mp3 player this season. I can think of a few songs to get the adrenaline pumping or maybe a few chilled out songs to just glide down the slopes to.

What music would you listen to or think would be good to listen to while you Snowboard or Ski?

Hmm, when I'm picking my way down a scary run, I tend to sing "Sweet Transvestite" from the Rocky Horror Picture show out loud, just to keep my rhythm and give myself courage.

Yup yup, unless I'm riding in a group or in the park.

When in the park I wear a lid, and the headphones don't fit under it. Also the crappy ipod headphones I could wear with it just fall out and are uncomfortable.

But yeah, normally for freeriding and messing about I'll have my specific snowboard playlist on blasting all the way. Gets the adrenaline and rythym going, sometimes a little too much. Earned me a concussion in Finland, but I've been throuh that before. :p

Wouldn't recommend it for learners as you tend not to hear people coming from behind until they are right up on you and this can result in a fright, followed almost certainly by a fall! ;)

Don't have any music playing on the slopes myself, not sure why really. If it's crowded then I like to be able to hear the people around me, if it's empty slope then I like the quietness.

A friend of mine has a great lid that has headphones which are loaded into padded earflaps! Doesn't sound like much but looks great and there is a simple button on the outside of the flap that mutes easily. Obv the headphone jack plugs into ipod/any mp3

Always find that any song with a pumping beat is great for tearing down a black or for getting revved up for a kicker!

Pretty similar to this actually: http://www.snowshack.com/detail/SNW+BN%2D00135+MB+L_Bern+Baker+Audio

I'm the same, I just find it way too distracting.

I stuck on the mp3 player when i was over in Andorra last and on came riverdance, that got my going at full throttle down the mountain!

Not often, because I usually board with friends. But I did try it on my last holiday when I was on the night slopes.

It's slightly unnerving at first, but it can really add to the experience IMO.

Something like a nano is great for skiing real handy if your skiing alone even if you just use it on lifts.

Same as the others, only when on my own.

As for the music specifically, i tend to vary based on what type of riding im doing. if its more laid back i might go for leftfield, massive attack, orbital and things of that ilk, but if im really going for it imo the ultimate album is Amon Amarth's "With Oden On Our Side". Awesome stuff, though at times tends to make me a little reckless. Also Megadeth, Gamma Ray, Blind Guardian, Rhapsody etc i find great as well.

I listened to NOFX loads while riding :)

Broke my mp3 player on a rail though.

I must try that actually, although I'm paranoid that I'll be bashing into people and stuff. Good for the old confidence though
