A group of pix users got together at The Guinness Store House after a invite from Marcus. We had a great day out and some of us are keen to do another.
Marcus has said if there's a large enough group (30) interested in a particular location he'll approach them to arrange access etc.(If necessary)

It's a good opportunity to get access as a group. In the Store House we were allowed in two hours before the public which made a huge difference to the photography for everybody. This may not the case depending on the chosen location (which is open to suggestions)

If your interested check out http://pix.ie/group/photowalks/discuss/topic/photo-walk-destinations all are welcome and don't forget to register as a discussion member

    Fantastic idea.
This was probably the push I needed to join that website. :)

    Eoin,

As I've already indicated in the pixie group discussion, I'm definitely up for this. The Guinness one was indeed a great day out, and I'd love to do another one.
The Pixie group discussion is unusually quiet on this.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record or that I have a gripe, but you can't find groups on Pix. The only place you see the odd comment is on the comments page, but you can't get to the group from there, and it gives the impression of a clique.

Same here. I see Croke Park is on the list - now that would be interesting!

    Hi whyulittle,

Pix.ie groups are currently in (semi-)private testing, basically if you stumble across them your in! Once were happy with everything, we'll open them up fully to the public.

For the moment, check out http://pix.ie/group/photowalks/

Croke Park wouldn't be my cuppa tea but I think Poolbeg was mentioned, that sounds cool. I'm always saying I'll go to these things and never do.. Must really make an effort... depending on new company employment location and so on.

The sport aspect of Croke Park doesn't get me but I'd say there's some cool areas to shoot, saying all that Poolbeg would be awesome!

    Both would be good!!!

Funny thing, I can't find any link to that group from PIX page. Am I W-stoopid?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 493 ✭✭bradnailer

I think at the moment they're private groups, there's no access from the home page.
If you make a comment in the group it comes up on the sites comments list.
    See comment from kiallm above.
