Making the Plunge

    Have my 400d a year now & I am going to upgrade to the 40d now.

    Seems pretty good value at the moment. Would be a big step-up from the 400d especially for the sports I cover.

    I have the following gear at the moment:

    Canon 400d
    Canon 70-200 f2.8
    Canon 200EX
    Canon 50mm
    Canon 1.4 extender.

    Thinking of getting:

    40D with EF-S 17-85 f/4-5.6 IS USM
    Canon Battery Grip - BG-E2N
    Extra Battery
    Extra Memory.

    Anyone have any opinions on the best place to purchase?

    Kea or go European with the €75 cashback on the 40D until January 2009.

    I always recommend Kerso along with Kea, his gray market imports are also eligible for rebates.

    Email him and ask about buying outside ebay for an additional discount. He can be slow to reply tho.

    I wouldn't buy the kit lens with the 40D.

    What len's do you reckon instead of the kit lens?

    Looking for something thats good for team photos.
