    Let the Flames Begin......

    Here's the Thing

Setting up this thing, at http://www.boardsireland.net/os/eyeOS/index.php
it's an Operating System, that works within your browser, only not as complicated. Check it out, Registration is required as you get your own space to save files and whatnot.

    Ahhh Yes, EyeOS.
I remember installing this a couple of months ago. It looks great, and seems pretty cool, but for me and my colleagues, we had no real purpose.

It is a nice piece of Open Source however.

If you were in college and you had your information on a USB Key (like a lot of students do) and it got broken, lost or stolen, and your work was all on that key, you would lose it, This way You can work on your project from any terminal that can connect to the internet and go away from it (maybe from college to home) and work on it at another location. Without worrying if your USB Key/iPod/ External Hard Drive Gets Lost, Broken or Stolen.

    Very nice piece of software.
How much storage space do you get, I can't get it to tell me :)

The space is shared among the users
Our Webhost is quite good with things, we can expand our webspace and things like that.

This service is not a generic backup service, for example mp3 collections and the like, we have a limit of 50MB per user (more than enough for college documents and personal work although more can be requested.
