    Yes the summer finally arrived and I got out for one of the few times this year. Took lots - need a filter as the sun (yes!) was causing problems but still pleased with some of them.

    Would have been better if I hadn't chopped off the end of the boat but I had to take it very quickly.

    Lovely n' sharp, they also seem to capture the fun and joy on the peoples faces.
    #3 I like the best.

    thanks. The red boat was more a look of fear than fun. We came at them at speed (and we're big!) and turned at the last second. Number 5 is my favorite too - she liked the camera.

    I would love to get into talking photographs of sailing boats; I get seasick however so I'll have to get around that.

    OP, lovely photographs.

    I'll run down through them if you don't mind.

    1) is a little too busy for my liking

    2) is lovely; pity the top of the sail is missing.

    3) really like the depth of field on this;

    4) I love 4, really. For me it is the best of the set here.

    5) the water is a little bit burnt out; but I love the composition. Well done.

    6) is not so much to my taste but the colours are excellent.

    Well done and please, please post more of this kind of stuff.

    thanks. Agree with most of that you say. I think like all photography practice makes perfect and I need to practice more and set the shots set up better.

    here's a couple more..Going to have to learn photoshop and figure out how to use masks to decrease the exposure on one part of the photo and increase it on another!

    Thanks. She's my favorite too :). Probably could have done with a UV filter or something to reduce the glare and get better colours. Also the 70-200 is a little short for some of the shots and big crops were needed.

    Next trip is a real windy day with big waves. Going to take out a rib and see if I can get some different shots.
