Ok i'm sick of reading Canon and Nikon threads here :)

Anyone got an Olympus camera and what are your favourite toys for it?

I bought a E520 at the end of July with the 14-42 and the 40-150 lens's. It's my first DSLR so still getting used to it.

Need to get a tripod but was also thinking about the 50mm Macro lens at some stage too.

personally I believe it is not the the camera that makes the image but the photographer.

Quite a few people have Olympus DSLRs (and the number is growing latterly I think because of the E-520). I shot film SLR with Olympus for years. The Zuiko 50mm that I had (and still have) is probably the best lens I own.

Yeah yeah - i agree with that - but i'm kinda just wondering what good toys are out there even though i'm still only getting the hang of things - perhaps I missed something :)

i've an E500 and after a while of using OM Zuiko lenses with it with the manual adapter (i've about 8 lenses for my OM kit), i went for the sigma 30mm f1.4.
not massively impressed with the focussing on it, but given the poor grain on the E500 at high ISO, and the lack of control of depth of field on the kit lenses, it was a bit of a no-brainer to purchase.

Canon owner here. I had an Olympus c2020 zoom for years. Absolutely brilliant camera. From what I hear the 520 is an exceptional machine. Good luck with it.:)

Im an olympus owner. I have an E410 with:

    * ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-42mm F3.5-5.6
    * ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 40-150mm F3.5-4.5 (the old one with better dof)

My next purchase is going to be the sigma 1.4 30mm as I like to take shots of gigs. Its just my lenses are not bright enough. All the shots on my flickr are taken with the olympus.

    Hello there!
I share your frustration, not enough talk of photography and too much talk about the equipment. Or maybe we notice because we're non using the same gear!

I've had an Olympus E-410 for over a year now, bought it with the twin lens kit and since then have added the 35mm macro (which I don't use and is available!) and then bought the 12-60mm SWD which is a superb lens and I can't recommend it highly enough.

I have the 35mm macro and find it an excellent macro and portrait lens.
Very good value for the money.

I have the e510 twin lens kit, I also have a sigma 30 f1.4 which I love but don't too often find my self in the correct circumstances too use, and the 70-300 which is IMHO a fantastic lens for the money, if you have roughly €270 to play with I'd reccomend it , great reach with reasonable macro type ability too.

If you just want to buy something today, get a polariser, great for when the sun shines.

    So I'm not alone........wahooooo :)

    I've an E510.
    Zuiko 14-42mm
    Zuiko 40-150mm (old one)
    Centon 50mm F1.7 (manual)
    Pentax 100-300mm F4.5 (manual)

    Ah fellow olympians on boards

I have 510 with two kit lens. Love the 14-42 really sharp. The 40-150 is an okay lense but not a sharp. Have played with the 70-300 and found it slow to AF, it's good for candid. Next lense ??

I have a clatter of stuff from ebay, cable release and flash. Got tripod from Aldi , wish i'd got two - while not the greatest I happy to drop it, plonk it in water etc.

My flickr http://www.flickr.com/irishmul Early shots taken with Sony compact.

I'm starting a course in October and starting to experiment with HDR.
