Total technophobe here, but I'm going to NY in a couple of weeks and plan to buy an Apple MacBook there, but I have a question, they use 2 pin plugs right?
So how do I get around that..... can I just get one of those normal US-> UK travel adaptors and use that, or does it need something special? Thanks

Normal us to uk will do the job grand.

Or if my memory serves, you could just buy one of THESE and plug it straight into the power supply that you get with the MacBook. You just slide out the plug part from it and it will reveal the socket for the new lead. Would be easier for plugging in so that it doesn't hang from the converter.

Just make sure that it is the correct amp rating to cover the power required from the power adapter, be it 3A, 5A or 13A.

thats an ipod plug mate, it comes in two parts, that part fits into another that receives the usb cord. you just need any usb plug adapter, or im sure a travel adapter will work too

Did you even read the link he posted to eBay? It isn't just for an iPod. It plugs into the interchangeable part of the Mac power supply so you can swap between different plugs for different countries or you can extend the supply with a figure 8 AC cable.
