Birthday with girlfriend......

Hey, not sure if this is the right section, but hopefully it'll get some responses here!

I'm going to a birthday party next friday with my girlfriend...it's her friend's party. The thing is i wont know anyone there, just my girlfriend! what do I do at it....just stand around like a plank what with not knowing anyone?!? Any suggestions/comments greatly appreciated!

Chances are she'll introduce your to a few people when you get there. From there, the usual ice-breaking questions where you working/what do you get up to when you're not a corporate slave/how do you know the brithday girl kinda thing and latch onto a common interest.

When you think the party is going good and everyone is enjoying themselves, turn off the music, whip out a guitar and play some stuff. Doesn't matter if you can't play.

Get a girlfriend who you're not scared to tell that you don't want to go somewhere you don't know anyone. Ffs if you're stressing about it you wont have fun, you'll follow her around, you'll be annoyed, she'll be annoyed, it will be rubbish.

So yeah, get a new girlfriend.

depends on what type of party it's going to be. if it's going to be mad with loads of people getting smashed and shagging in the bedrooms then ask your gf to ask her friend if it's ok if you bring one or two or your mates with you as wingmen. if on the other hand it's oging to be 10-12 people sitting around eating peanuts and drinking wine you'll just have to man up and sit there and smile and try not embarrass yourself or your girlfriend
