Is this the obligatory filler before the midseason 2 parter, or will it keep up the standard of last week?

    Summary (from tv.com):
Keller is abducted on a trip off world to help a wraith-threatened village, and it's up to Ronon and McKay to find her. However it soon emerges that her abductor is, in fact, a Runner.

Very solid episode. The promo last week lowered my expectations, and I was pleasantly surprised. Nice to see Kellar out of her comfort zone, and good to see she can take care of herself!

On a side note, click here for the mid-season promo.

    very enjoyable episode,
another leap with keller finally learning to defend herself and rodney managed to killed was it 2 or 3 wraith,

nice to see rodney and ronan clashing for keller, shes a bit of a slut

Ah enjoyed it - pretty solid for an episode that was largely filler. I say largely filler because I suspect that next week, or very soon, we'll see the planet from which the teleportation device came from.

Teaming up Rodney and Ronin worked a lot better than I'd expect, especially with McKay trying to show himself as the hard man with his scouting history ("before I was asked to leave" :) ).
Keller was also good in that she showed her own strengths here and didn't let herself be the victim.

The new runner was well 'ard and I really liked his teleport device, which gave a nice edge to the fights. Would love to see the Wraith get their hands on these or some other villain and go up against the SG:A team.

Again it leaves me feeling that is a stronger season than last years and hopefully we'll go out on a mid-season high next week.

The teleportation device looked organic, one might say Wraith made, did it not?

No. Not Wraith Tech. Too different tbh.

I thought the episode was good. Reminded me of that bounty hunter episode from way way back in SG-1. But I had no idea there was an active rivalry between Ronin and McKay until they bothered to bring it up. That business during the Lockdown episode a while back was a long time ago.

The fights were good, all of them, but the most exciting aspect of this episode was the sneak peek for next week's episode.

"Out" is soooo dramatic, man.... Remember its only out for 2 weeks this year!! It breaks on September 26th and its back on October 10th...

A pretty solid episode - I enjoyed the rivalry between Ronin and McKay, added some comic relief to the episode. Some inconsistencies with the Wraith again - the two that McKay shot took a lot of shots to go down (with Ronin helping out on the first one) while the third (well, second one to die) was dead with only a couple of shots... Overall though, good episode.

    It was a good quote.

I also liked McKay's accidental slip in mistaking one of the female villager's (who had a striking resemblance to Bulldog Brattle from Ally McBeal) as a man.

Ah yes, that was quite good too.

yes i understand what your saying, but depending on when they last feed would determine how many bullets it will take to kill them,

nice thing to have, to cover your ass when writing or filming

    that was clearly a moustache.

Why does McKay only carry a pistol, and not a P90? That's caused a lot of problems for him, running out of shots at a critical point. He could at least bring two.

Good episode for a (probably) lower budget filler. SG:A is getting better this year, it's a pity it's all ending.

I think it maybe had something to do that it was his "day off" and he was just tagging along, rather than being on a mission. Notice he wasn't in uniform either for the episode. The pistol is probably standard issue when going off world, but they didn't think they would be in any danger, hence no full gear/P90. Though in fairness, wouldn't McKay have even more trouble using a P90? :)

I dont recall Jackson carrying an FN P-90 for his standard issue either. He just carried the Five SeveN too.

As far as inconsistencies with wraiths taking a different number of hits to die, maybe McKay just got a lucky hit on some vital organ on the second wraith.

And if McKay couldnt get through the scouts, i doubt he would be able to do enough combat training to be trusted with a P90. A nervous guy with a P90 would be a very dangerous thing. Personally, i always hated it when Daniel Jackson was running around like a commando with his P90, slaughtering replicators.

Not even scouts, beavers. I mean come on, they're 6 to 8 year olds (presumable similar in Canada), I really don't know why he was so excited about getting the "book" before he was kicked out. It can't have featured more than basic knots, hardly essential survival skills.

Hence the reason Jackson died so much. Lack of ... equipment.

You gotta admit p90 dualies was awesome though.

    Decent episode plenty of killin

I've never understood why the SG teams use earth issued weapons surely they could have figured out some way of making an Automatic staff weapon hence givin them yetanother advantage in the not havin to reload or ship bullets from home

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86,729 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

the war with the replicators in the milky way taught them just how valuable their earth tech weapons were. And to be fair they use zats when the situation calls for it. Then you have Staff Weapons and Plasma Guns (ronin) and ARGs as non standard issue. Machine guns are also good for killin a nigga or two in a dart.

You hate that someone who has spent years on the front line battling aliens and has more experience than most real life commandos can operate a weapon?

Zats could have made Wraith killing a whole lot easier :pac: :pac: :pac:

yeah, but all the other baddies, Jaffa, Ori, Wraith... they all use single shot energy weapons, imagini if you will some kind of 'Gatling Gun Staff weapon'

I just think they really missed a trick with that one, and also with all their cleverness how come they havent reverse engineered a few if Ronin's guns.
