    It's true!!!

But i like to play music too, go figure!!

So, i'm a guitarist, i've been playing about 8 years. I'm at a pretty good standard although this past year i haven't played much at all due to travelling so i'm a little rusty. I would like to get back into playing in a band and playing live...

If anyone would be interested in some good times in the form or of a jam/laughs/few beers then let me know. I'm in Dublin and my musical influences would include blues/classic rock/har... well, rock in general + some metal/classical/jazz.

    What do ya say?

    Hey MagicMarker,

We are a Dublin based 4 piece band looking for a second guitarist (rythm that can do with lead). We've been together for around a year and have done gigs and recording but want to push it as far as we can. We practice once a week close to the city centre. Check out our website www.myspace.com/thestylusband for demos, influences etc and send me a message or pm if your interested.

    Hump da bump!!

I should probably be a little more specific as to what i'm looking for... And what better way to do that, than list personal influences. The following are what i listen to, the bold being what kind of sound i'd be looking at, but not limiting myself to, as i'm rather open minded.

(yes, these are in alphabetical order, as it's easier to run down my iTunes files than remember them off the top of my head)

AC/DC, Aerosmith, Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, Audioslave, Blink 182, Block Party, Blur, Bon Jovi, Chuck Berry, Coldplay, Cream, CCR, The Darkness, Dave Matthews Band, David Bowie, The Doors, The Eagles, Eric Clapton, Eva Cassidy, Foo Fighters, Frank Sinatra, Franz Ferdinand, Green Day, Guns n Roses, Hundred Reasons, Incubus, Jeff Buckley, Jet, Jimi Hendrix, Juliette and the Licks, Killers, Kings of Leon, Led Zeppelin, Lostprophets, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Madness, Manic Street Preachers, Metallica, Miles Davis, Moloko, Morcheeba, Muse, Nina Simone, Oasis, Ok Go, Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd, Presidents of the United States, Queen, Queens of the Stone Age, Raconteurs, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, Razorlight, RHCP, Rolling Stones, Thin Lizzy, The White Stripes, The Zutons...

So, what can we ascertain from this little experiment?

Lets just say, i want to play melodic, intelligent hard rock n roll songs with a blues influence and a little funk thrown in. Blistering solos and riffs that will blow your cock off but not before you cream yourself with excitement... Now, can i be any clearer than that?
