they only had 2 albums - i think the best of contains most of both albums (the first one is better than the 2nd IMO).

Time for heroes is on Up the Bracket.

Dirty Pretty Things aren't a patch on Libs or Shambles. I feel they are just lacking something and a small step from the kooks or alot of the new nme crowd.

I'd get both albums on there own and skip the best of, if you go this road make sure you don't miss 'Don't look back into the Sun' as it was released as a single only.

Enjoy the libs, they were great.

i agree that libs are far better than dirty pretty things and id probably say theyre better than babyshambles too. pete and carl are best when they play together :) babyshambles first album is better than their second imo. didya hear petes also releasin a solo album :) oh and that was a typo i meant to say best of the libs not time for heroes, sorry. speakin of songs, really like death on the stairs and music when the lights go out :)

Had some good songs. It's a pity the PD junkie roadshow ended up messing up everything.

Sometimes things only work if they're messed up. Not condoning the lifestyle but i think the libs are the best band to come out of london/uk in a vey long time. The only downside is the amount of watered down versions of them over the last few years.

There are three great Libertine/Barat/Doherty albums

    Libertines - Up the Bracket
Dirty Pretty Things - Waterloo to Anywhere
    Babyshambles - Shotters Nation

The second libertines album is ok, not great - maybe get the best of instead, has a good mix of the best from both albums

Second Dirty Pretty Things album is a huge let down, as was the first Babyshambles album.

i think Pete and Carl played on stage together during the week at something or another so maybe a Libertines reform on for 2009 sometime........

anyway the must have Libs album is Up The Bracket, I Get Along EP is another reccommendation

self titled Libs album is really good too but wasn't finished properly as Pete was gone from the band.

the Babyshambles/DPT is grand but neither reach the creative heights of the Libertines

yeah just make sure you own Up The Bracket, one of the best albums of the decade
