CHALLENGE TO ONLINE PLAYERS

I am a veteran live player with hundreds of thousands in earnings in Irish poker. I am here because I have heard this is the epicentre of the Irish online poker community. I have noticed in recent times the amount of online poker players arriving at the live felt with bulging bankrolls and a cocky swagger. I have never met one though that i would rate as a decent player. Here is the challenge: I will play any Irish online player in five thousand euro heads up freezeouts. The game will be no limit hold em. The structure can be decided by my opponents. I am confident enough in my game to adapt to any structure. My only stipulation is that we must play on my turf.......where else but the Riverside Casino in Drogheda? I eagerly await replys from the online superstars of Irish poker.

Ps. If anyone doubts my credibilty just ask anyone from the Louth poker scene

€5000 freezouts. I will play as many as my opponent likes. I am self employed business man, money is of no concern to me.

Its not about the money, money never troubled me. This is about putting online players in their place.

Is the OP meant to read 5x 1k h/u matches or 5k matches? if it's the 1st one, then most likely it'll just end up 3-2 1 way or another. Meh.... not sure you winning proves anything other than 1 random live player being better than 1 random online player.

In any case i nominate Holllaments. Do it up Danny.

    Why would they bother though?

Too a top online player €5k isnt a huge amount, but mostly importantly who the **** would want to go to louth? I'd say most would rather sit and home and play online rather then have a dick waving contest with some muck savae they will never see again.

Also, if this was real - going to play on 'your turf' so that you can 'put online players in their place' makes me strongly doubt that the game wouldn't be rigged in some way or another.

But sure online is rigged aswel so its the same difference ;)
LOL i just read the OP, fill me in!

I asked the same question. Its any number of €5k HU matches

ooops lol i see it now :o

I dont get this whole thing really. If anything i'm surprised the OP doesnt want to take on all-comers anytime, anyplace; with skills that good and balls to go with them surely wouldnt matter to him where he played!

God i miss the days when i played loads live and having Micky and Morris coming into the casino and hearing that sweet music after losing a pot - (One of the them shouts loudly) " Give me 1000 euro " with the oncoming monkey tilt in their eyes !!

    its either Fintan or Vratislav

I hear there is some guy from up north who might be into taking you on. He is a dodgy character though, he robs charity money and has fallen out with his family. He might be interested though, but it will be hard to contact him on here. Last I heard he fancied he could make 10k a month playing micro stake nlh. So he'd have the money to take you on.;)

Well make a serious OP then. Less than .1% of the people that frequent this site would be bankrolled to play a €5k hu sng, and I doubt that that subsection correlates with the other subsection that would be stupid enough to go down to a country casino to play a game that could well be rigged.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48 micky radigan

What is an OP? The Riverside is not a country casino. It is a legitimate establishment

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,696 ✭✭✭Hectorjelly

OP stands for opening post. If you are serious I wish you luck in your endeavour, but you should be aware of how ridiculous a proposition it seems.

I think most people who have a 5k bankroll should be interested in playing this game !

I want to play online players. I have just been informed by Kevin Fitzpatrick that you are predominately a live player....

if this is serious i am sure we can get you a game.
to make it anyway gud you needed to play 10 x 5k sng's=50k
thats abit too much for pretty much most of us online folk.
But if 3/4 of us group together we could take you on.
That way you could defeat all the v best online irish players and then we could announce a true king. Is nlh and plo ok, mayb 5 of each game.
All the players would b internet babies and contain the arrogance and swagger you seem to dislike.
so if you are serious send me a pm and i'll raise 50k that we can hand you on a plate.

What on earth would this prove??

If you win, what does that mean? If you lose, what does that mean? One single point of data doesnt even make a line, let alone anything you could extrapolate from or base a concluson on.

I'd imagine you fit the bill for that bit with a lot of people but you have were successful live this year so he prob would not want any part of you either.

DBC was in the Fitz last night when all this madness was taking place.

If this was for real I'm pretty sure we could get a stake together to do this. It's no trouble for me to play in Drogheda. Unfortunately it's 99% certainly a level.

OK, try this. If you're so wealthy and so good you'll probably not have a problem putting more than one online player in his place.

I propose a Corporation / Andy Beal type thing.

Surely there are a few players on here who can put together a roll to take on this guy. Play it over a few weeks or months.

    Now thats a challenge.
I'll excuse myself from this as I have no money and I'm just not bloody good enough

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,228 ✭✭✭POKERKING

if money is no object and all you want to do is put internet players in there place lower the buy in to a grand and make it more accesible to players that post here...
