I've been working for 6 months on a Golf course in Wexford and I was wondering is there any set hourly rate for this job or is there any union I could join ?

You Could join BIGGA British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association! Not too sure but i thinkm it may be the only association for greenkeepers www.bigga.org.uk might be worth a look.

    Are you qualified?

A labourer on a golf course will earn minimum wage up to 12/15 euro an hour.

A fully qualified Greenkeeper will earn 30k up to 100k depending on how qualified you are and where you are

You could be covered under the JLC for Agri workers, this does covers those who tend Sports Grounds, not sure if Golf courses are captured within this, although if you were up in the High Court I'm sure you could find 2 people who could argue both ways. It all really depends. See link below under 'List of JLC' then select Agri

Why not join the GCSAI (Golf Course Superintendents Association of Ireland). That is the association in Ireland for greenkeepers at all levels in the industry from Head Greenkeepers to apprentice greenkeepers.
    Details are available on www.gcsai.org.

Gcsai really doesn't do a lot for non head greenkeepers.
