availability and pricing of Nikon D90

I have made my choice and the above is going to be my first D SLR camera.
Have not seen any around here. Asked in Dixon's but the guy laughed.
I am tempted to give someone I know who is traveling to New York to get me one in B&H or Adorama. The price over there is roughly 1299 USD for the body and 18-105 lens. I do not know if any tax is added but it is way cheaper than anywhere in Europe.

Haha well if you're going to pick it up from a shop here I would definately go with Birminghams, they're very reliable and will more often then not do you a good deal. You should probably get a better deal off ebay though... just putting it out there! I'd say do your homework, look up the price on ebay plus shipping, and what kind of deal you'd get it for here. You're nearly always going to get it cheaper over in the states though.

B&H - body only at $999.95 (701.42e)

ebay - body & 18-105mm (new) at $915 + shipping $52 = $967 (678.27e)

I did a search for the above eBay selelr. While he's a power selelr, he will only deliver to the address as on the CC so this means, I would get stung by customs if I bought the camera from him.
Any other ebay seller is quite expensive TBH.

Yeah I thought the one suggested by Outpost31 was quite expensive. The links I put up were just to give you an idea of the kind of money you're looking at thats all, you can do a lot more shopping around and find similar prices; bear in mind this model is only just out so give it a while to pop up on ebay at good deals! Just trying to help, they're only suggestions to give you an idea of what you're looking at!

Aparently, prices listed on B&H and adorama are without tax.

just over 8% But I am sure someone will post the exact amout..

I am just back from there and bought the d90 with lens..

No idea, It was just under 1,500 $ (i think..)
I got the ide from another board member as it wasnt on sale at the time and he asked at bestbuy if they had them in stock, they were not on general release but he and I picked them up.
