    I hate my job!

Anybody know a way around websense to browse banned websites without systems catching on?

    Cheers

Have you tried proxy services available on the net?

Type in "free proxy services" in a search engine and see will any of the results help.
Someone here will prob' suggest a good site service or product that might be available.

I've administered Websense in the past, there is no way around it. Most clued in network admins will block any free proxies.

To be honest if you do try and circumvent it and are caught you could land yourself in serious trouble in work.

Agreed. You could find yourself in SERIOUS trouble and I wouldn't recomment it at work.
    Its not worth it.

I've used web filtering software in the past, it wasn't websense though. KTRIC is right there's no way around it, they pickup everything.

plead your case with the IT boyos, they might put in an acception if it's not too bad a website, as in, a gross waste of time.

otherwise facebook/bebo/myspace or whatever will have to wait til you get home.

If you can get to boards.ie you're going to waste more time then you can shake a stick at anyways, be happy you have this! ;)

There are actually many ways of getting around websence, tor client+proxy=w1n. But like the advice before, it is not worth risking it unless you really know what your doing.

The only alternative is quite drastic and really not worth the hassle. It involves setting up a remote session on your pc at home and connecting to it from the office.

I do this myself, but then again I work in IT and have loads of time on my hands and can't wait to go home and surf porn :D

Mustn't be a bad job if you've plenty of free time to surf the net :(

    Consider yourself lucky.
