We've got 2 double passes to give away for this months party.

To win, just answer the following easy question:

What much lauded record label does Ralph Lawson run?

First correct answers to dub.jackit@gmail.com will secure the passes. The winners will be notified by email before Saturday afternoon.

    Good luck!

jacKit is back this Saturday in McGruders!

First of all, a quick thanks to all who made it down to our party last month - it was a cracker! Also big ups to our guest DJs Jon Da Wiseguy and Niall Turner for getting the place hopping nice and early :)

With Conky playing a stormer of a headline set last month, now it's the turn of the other half of jacKit - Giles K, to do the honours. Expect to be treated to a dancefloor friendly blend of bumpy squelchy house, chunky bouncy techno and twisted fidgety cuts - always jacKin, always underground.

Giles K has been honing his ever-evolving sound for the past few years since finally taking up DJing in 2005 - having been an earnest clubber and electronic music connoisseur since 2000, and even further back as a young teenager back in the early 90s. He cites his local influences as Calvin James, Eoin Cregan, Giles Armstrong, Mark Allton and Arveene to name but a few. On the international circuit, he would consider the likes of SWAG / Chris Duckenfield, Timmy Stewart, Trevor Loveys, Justin Martin, Format B, Style Of Eye & Shur-I-Kan to be amongst his favourite and most respected DJs / Producers at the moment, all of whom are out there making great music and rocking out dancefloors all across the globe.

Here's a mix from Giles, freshly recorded earlier this week, as a taster of what to expect on Saturday - enjoy!

On support duties we have our good mate and excellent DJ Stevo McCarroll over from London - with Acii Disco's Aaron Nolan and Conky keeping the heads nodding and the feet bumping until midnight.

Stevo is no stranger to DJing and promoting, having been part of the Mixitmusik Crew many years ago and running successful clubnights Soul Candy and Audio @ Wax. He has also DJed for the likes of Bodytonic, Acii Disco quite regularly also. Stevo has been based in London since late 2005 and is currently involved in running a night called Phone @ Jam Bar in London along with Bodytonics Stephen Egri. He is flying over specially to play for us this Saturday and we are thrilled to have him on board! Stevo is an extremely versatile DJ, and is equally at home with deep groovin house as he is with tougher, chunkier house and techno. He assures us that he's got some absolute crackers lined up for this Saturday so I guess that means we're all in for an aural treat, not to mention a vigourous body workout!

Aaron Nolan will be spinning before Stevo, and a great little DJ he is too - not to mention a cheeky little scamp! Aaron has been cutting his teeth as part of the Acii Disco crew the past while, as well as spinning in many of Dublins top venues. Expect some deep and spacey techno grooves to be the order of the day - and then some.

Kicking the night off will be the "other" half of jacKit, Conky, who after his blistering main slot last month will be toning down the madness - but not the quality. Chuggy minimal techno and all yer cousins over this way please!

And last but not least, as an extra surprise treat this month we are opening up the Bar Room downstairs and leaving it in the capable hands of the madhatter trio of Rob Murphy, Barry Greaves (Automated / Weird Scientist) and Tom "English Tom" Lynn (Hospital) - who will be treating the downstairs posse to a selection of his own homemade tracks. Having heard quite a few of these tracks over the last week, we can assure you that they're pretty good!

As always we are opening up the shop at 10pm with admission being only €10 all night. Not bad for two rooms of music, a wicked heated beer garden and friendly and accomodating staff :)

Some info and all that schmazz about the jacKit below (a if yis need to know at this stage), as well as details of our upcoming local and international guests.

Hope to see you all on Saturday!

    Until then......
