How to recognise genuine BMW alloys...

Can anyone tell me if there is a fairly surefire way if telling if a set of BMW alloys are genuine or not? My friend just had his BMW squashed by http://www.elvs.ie and he saved the alloys as they are in fantastic nick. I am going to sell them onwards for him but I want to be sure that they are the real thing or not (previous owner said they were) before trying to decide on a price.

There are tons of markings on them (numbers etc..., not kerb marks :D) and I don't know what any of them mean so if anyone has any information about this I would appreciate it...

    Thanks.
