Style / Fashion Co-ordination

    Hi there ladies

Just wondering, if any of you know of courses given or a few hours even for style & fashion tips... yes, a bit like the Trinny and Susannah thingy.
Having reached my mid thirties, and having only worn rock chick looks for most of my twenties, I am beginning to want to change styles, and become a bit more feminine I guess, and I always end up buying stuff and leaving it in the wardrobe or giving it away with the labels still on because it feels wrong on me.
I'd really like some advice on co-ordinating outfits. I know some stores do this but I believe you can pay a fair whack and I just wondered before dishing out the dosh does anyone recommend anyone or anywhere to do it. I'd like to get advice on style and colour too (always went for black and am so bored with it now), and bloody shoes too! Thanks a lot for any advice you can profer. A

Don't some shops have a personal shopper service that you don't have to pay?

Why don't ya take a morning off work during the week when it's quiet and head into the shops and go to a good decent shop with experienced sales assistants? If they have been working in clothes shops for a few years then they probably know what they are talking about :) Get one of them to help ya with stuff! Better anyway than spending loads on someone to tell you to wear all this crazy stuff that you aren't comfortable with.

Colour me Beautiful do three - four hour consults where they go through what colours, and styles suit you, and give you colour charts etc.

It's a couple of hundred quid for the whole session I think, I've three friends who did it and thought it was well worth it.

Geraldine Brand does style workshops. I did the Teen one a few years ago and it was good, learned a lot about building up a decent capsule wardrobe.

How To Look good Naked with Gok Wan I find really good, plus ye get to sit back n relax while it's on! I know it doesn't sound like much but I actually gave it a chance and found it really good, they test products from brand name to high street and do like fashion sessions on how to pull off certain looks without spending mad money...

Thanks for your advice guys. I think I might do the whole take a day off some time, that sounds like a good idea to get started. Evening and saturdays are too stressful! If I don't get results from that I'd eventually do a consultation but to begin, yes probably watching a few more programmes and getting advice from the retail outlets would be a good start! Thanks for the help - A

Debenhams and Topshop both have a free personal shopper service. Obviously they hope you might buy something but there's no obligation.

It might not be what you're looking for but A-wear also do this for free... although i know it's very limited in there so a department store might be best, but it would be good for cheaper stuff!
