Im delighted the Jags are on Sky this week, but im not happy that we are staring an 0-3 start. We really need the confidence of sweeping the Titans and Bills to pose a serious thread to Indy, and we have the opposite.

Anybody know if Jerry Porter will be back this week?

Well he practiced fully last week so I'd say there's a good chance of him being back!

    8-7 Week 2, didn't pick Week 1.

    Arizona
at Washington - Still don't like the Redskins this year, still like Kurt Warner.
Kansas City at Atlanta - Kansas are this year's Miami.
Oakland at Buffalo - Better team.
Tampa Bay at Chicago - Probably not the better team, but I like Tampa.
Carolina at Minnesota - Vikings have to click at some point, I reckon.
Houston at Tennessee - Despite being psyched out by themselves...
Cincinnati at N.Y. Giants - Wasn't expecting the Giants to start strong, but hey.
Miami at New England - Miami are this year's St. Louis (given that Kansas are the Miami)
St. Louis at Seattle - This might be wishful thinking. Torry Holt to do something ridiculous again, Hasselbeck to look puzzled with no-one to throw to, Bulger to eh... get sacked, a lot of times. But still win? Maybe? C'MON RAMS!
Detroit at San Francisco - Lions have some "playmakers".
New Orleans at Denver - A wise man once said: "THE DENVER BRONCOS?!" - but they still look good.
Jacksonville at Indianapolis - Colts are top three in the league on paper. C'mon paper.
Cleveland at Baltimore - Not sure why I have Cleveland here, but I like neither.
Pittsburgh at Philadelphia - "He didn't want to be an athlete, he wanted to be a quarterback". Donovan continues to shine.
Dallas at Green Bay - A-Rod to beat a great team, and continue on track to being football's A-Rod. Brett Favre to go "dang!" somewhere.
N.Y. Jets at San Diego - Jesus Christ San Diego, pick it up already.

The whole world is writing us off versus SD. They're right of course. I'm hoping for a miracle because I think this is a playoff eliminator given the strength of the AFC as a whole.

Didnt pick last week, but had 10-6 from week 1. Mainly went for home wins this week, Carolina, Tampa, dallas and Detroit the teams who could just as easily win their games.

Arizona at Washington 1:00 pm FOX While Washington won last week, I still think they are a bad football team. Arizona are full of confidence and as long as Warner stays healthy and upright they will continue to win games imo.
Kansas City at Atlanta 1:00 pm CBS Matt Ryan had a proper introduction to the league last week. Both these teams are going to have losing seasons. I just think Edwards will grind out wins against the weaker teams on his team's schedule.
Oakland at Buffalo 1:00 pm CBS Simple choice here. Buffalo look like they will be very decent this season. Oakland are still a shambles.
Tampa Bay at Chicago 1:00 pm FOX Griese goes back to Chicago. He'll be pressured and hurried all day long by the Chicago defense. This will be ugly most likely - close and low scoring home win.
Carolina at Minnesota 1:00 pm FOX I think this is one of the hardest games to call. Minnesota should have won last week and the Panthers will surely drop their level slightly some game soon. I've just picked the Vikings because of home advantage.
Houston at Tennessee 1:00 pm CBS Houston are probably better than people think. However, their strength is the defense - and Schaub and co will probably struggle to move the ball at the Titans.
Cincinnati at N.Y. Giants 1:00 pm CBS The Bengals have looked awful thus far. Palmer has been bad for a while now (i.e. stretching back into last season) and the defense is real soft. This is the last season Lewis will be coach imo.
Miami at New England 1:00 pm CBS I think this will be closer than people expect even if the Pats will edge it with overall good play from every department like last week. Expect a simplified package for Cassels for the second week in a row too.
St. Louis at Seattle 4:05 pm FOX St. Louis are as bad as Miami were last year. The difference being they may not win a single game.
Detroit at San Francisco 4:05 pm FOX Think this will be an upset. SF have a poor pass defense which is the Lion's biggest strength. Kitna is tough, and tends to play really well after bad losses. Ultimately, both teams are average and I think the Lions will be the more desperate.
New Orleans at Denver 4:05 pm FOX This could be a fun game. Home advantage. Plus the Saints D will hate Cutler judging by how they dealt with Campbell last Sunday.
Jacksonville at Indianapolis 4:15 pm CBS
Cleveland at Baltimore 4:15 pm CBS Cleveland found better rhythm offensively towards the end of their game against Pittsburgh. And they played good tough defense all day long. They are a good team that happened to draw two very good teams in the first two weeks.
Pittsburgh at Philadelphia 4:15 pm CBS Well, McNabb looked regal on Monday. And we know he wins games when he is at his best.
Dallas at Green Bay 8:15 pm NBC How good are the Vikings and the Lions? I think this could be a blowout because Dallas have beaten two good football teams and Green Bay have some problems.

N.Y. Jets at San Diego 8:30 pm ESPN

If we are to upset the Chargers, we will need play better up front on both sides of the ball and find ways to stop the run. We probably need to gamble more with Favre in key situations and take the risk of turnovers that it brings. We need to be mistake free - and probably need all the possible officiating mistakes that can go our way! :) I'll be crossing my fingers and praying for an unlikely upset.

Arizona at Washington - Campbell & Portis back on song so should win this
Kansas City at Atlanta - Poor poor chiefs may not win a game all year
Oakland at Buffalo - Oakland did well last week but Bills should win at home
Tampa Bay at Chicago - Doesn't matter who the bears are playing, i'll still pick em, but should make home advantage count
Carolina at Minnesota - Vikings to get there season back on track here
Houston at Tennessee - Titans run game to win it here
Cincinnati at N.Y. Giants - Bungles have to start playing well soon but not here
Miami at New England - The banker of the round me thinks
St. Louis at Seattle - Some voice in my head is telling me Rams will do it
Detroit at San Francisco - 49ers to make home advantage count
New Orleans at Denver - Denver have an impressive passing game and should beat the Saints
Jacksonville at Indianapolis - Colts got started in 2nd half of last week and should keep it going
Cleveland at Baltimore - Browns are improving and might sneak this one
Pittsburgh at Philadelphia - Too close to call, Westbrook to win it
Dallas at Green Bay - The Rodgers show to come to a halt here.
N.Y. Jets at San Diego - Cruel end for chargers 2 weeks in a row. They should finally get off the mark here

    Last Week 9-6

Season 9-6 (no week 1 for me)

Arizona at Washington Zona ain't that good? Skins ain't that bad? If they can comeback against NO in that fashion, they should win this one.
Kansas City at Atlanta 1:00 pm CBS Oakland ran all over the Chiefs. Mike Turner might just do the same. KC starts their 3rd string QB on the road.
Oakland at Buffalo 1:00 pm CBS Bills looking good.
Tampa Bay at Chicago 1:00 pm FOX Tough one, but if the Bears can play the Panthers so tough on the road, I like their chances in this game. Plus TB starts a QB not good enough for the Bears....
Carolina at Minnesota 1:00 pm FOX 5 FGs with those kind of stats from AP?
Houston at Tennessee 1:00 pm CBS Could Tennessee win the south without VY? I doubt it, but they're playing well so far, with a RB that will challenge the Texans.
Cincinnati at N.Y. Giants 1:00 pm CBS Superbowl champs will be 3-0 and the NFC East will have 3 teams in the playoffs again this year.
Miami at New England 1:00 pm CBS Tom who? That Brady guy don't play defence or RB. Will Moss have 100 yards receiving again this season after what we saw on Sunday?
St. Louis at Seattle 4:05 pm FOX St. Louis is awful.
Detroit at San Francisco 4:05 pm FOX Lions are awful.
New Orleans at Denver 4:05 pm FOX 55-37 for Denver.
Jacksonville at Indianapolis 4:15 pm CBS Hard to see Jags going 0-3, especially with Sanders out and Manning less than 100%, but still...
Cleveland at Baltimore 4:15 pm CBS Cleveland has to click at some stage.
Pittsburgh at Philadelphia 4:15 pm CBS Toss a coin. I'd imagine Ben's health will have a big bearing on the result.
Dallas at Green Bay 8:15 pm NBC Aaron Rodgers looked mighty good against a poor Lions team-GB made the right move.

Woah, people picking the Rams over the Seahawks! I love you guys!

You should see the Rams forums around the web. I doubt Linehan goes anywhere without bodyguards at this point, and as for the O-line... They're even hating on Steven Jackson at this point.

Seriously though, if the Rams O-line doesn't just leave the door unlocked this week (10 sacks in two weeks - Bulger says "I'm not injured... but I'm sore") and a few personnel tweaks are made, this is as good a chance at a W as we're going to get. I pity Torry Holt, he's just playing out his contract, but he might be too old to produce the numbers he could be producing right now by the time he gets to a non-shambolic team.

Arizona at Washington 1:00 pm FOX
The cards have looked decent in the opening two games and despite the Redskins win last week I'm still not convinced Campbell has the ability to take this team forward. Away win for me but it'll probably be close.

Kansas Cityat Atlanta 1:00 pm CBS
Atlanata are certainly better than advertised but that's not too hard to accomplish. The Chiefs however are probably selecting 1st next year. Atlanata wins this one and anyone with Michael Turner has a good fantasy day!

Oakland at Buffalo 1:00 pm CBS
This one seems simple. The Raiders can't stop the run and Buffalo excell on the ground. The Bills control the clock and likely win in a more comfortable manner than the score will suggest.

Tampa Bay at Chicago 1:00 pm FOX
home field advantage takes it here. The Bucs are good but that Bears D is looking good again. Could be a close one.

Carolina at Minnesota 1:00 pm FOX
The Vikes click finally. With Jackson out of the starting lineup more pressure than ever is heaped on Peterson. I think he responds with a huge game. The Panthers are playing above their level imo and should come back down to earth here.

Houston at Tennessee 1:00 pm CBS
Houston is a bad team. A few good players scattered around their depth chart but they won't have enough to take care of the Titans. Jeff Fischer is the difference here I think.

Cincinnati at N.Y. Giants 1:00 pm CBS
The Giants have started hot but how much of that is down to their schedule? Doesn't get much harder for them as the take care of the Bungals to move to 3-0 for the season.

Miami at New England 1:00 pm CBS
Cassell moves to 2-0 for the season. I think Miami will keep it close but i'd imagine that the Pats will have too much for them. We won't be seeing huge blowout wins for the Pats this season but I still think they're a force to be reckoned with.

St. Louis at Seattle 4:05 pm FOX
The Seahawks are bad, but the Rams are worse! This could be a high scoring game as both D's are shocking. I think that the Seahawks do enough to secure the home win.

Detroit at San Francisco 4:05 pm FOX
The lions are poor but that O is too good to not win a few games. I think they'll have the better of the 49ers are still rebuilding.

New Orleans at Denver 4:05 pm FOX
Denver are another team that are playing above their ability imo. I think that Bree's leads the Saints on a nice bounce back win after their shock loss to the skins.

    Jacksonville at Indianapoli4:15 pm CBS
The Colts are limping at the moment. The Jags are in freefall though. Despite that Jacksonville always seem to bring their A game when they play the colts. I think they'll be up for this MUST win game and take it in a tight one. Jones-Drew has to get going nice and early though.

Cleveland at Baltimore 4:15 pm CBS
Two average teams but I like the Ravens D. McGahee is well rested at this stage and could have a big day against the Browns porous D.

Pittsburgh at Philadelphia 4:15 pm CBS
I'm not convinced on the Eagles D-line at the moment. Big Ben is hurt but Willy Parker and Mendenhall can beat Philly on the ground. If the Eagles go ahead early however I think they take this one in convincing fasion.

Dallas at Green Bay 8:15 pm NBC
Dallas have never won in Green Bay. I don't see that changing this week. I'm not 100% convinced that the Packers are as good as advertised but they are contenders. Rodger has been playing some good ball and if he continues to do so they should beat the Cowboys.

    Monday, Sep. 22
    Game Time TV
N.Y. Jets at San Diego 8:30 pm ESPN
The Chargers have been insanely unlucky two weeks in a row. I think they're still major contenders and they should have enough to send Brett and the Jets packing.

Not going well so far. Everything went right for Dolphins in the first half. Its going to be tough to turn around. I think we need more passing and less rushing. They seem to be good at stopping the run.

The Dolphins are making long drives at will. What has happened NE's Defense? When was the last time the Pats allowed 4 TD's?

3 rushing TD's and 1 pass for a TD from Ronnie Brown

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,425 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Their offense has been impressive to be fair. Brown having a dream day. Its just not happening, Adelius Thomas was all over Pennington on their last drive and Pennington gets away and makes a 15 yard pass on the run. Everything going right for Miami.
Cassel has done nothing wrong, the Receivers have been poor. And Miami have done well in stopping the run.

    Just one of those days.

Other than the fact our running game is non existent. Yes Dolphins having a dream day but no excuse poor defense Pats D look lost and Morris cant run stop giving him the fooking ball he is old and ijured and honestly we had this argument he cant find the lanes Lamont should be carrying fact. Bill B needs to get his head out of his ass right now we are throwing far too much pressure on Matt Cassell he is not Tom ****ing Brady stop throwing so much.

Jordan was doubtful for the game today. Maybe he is not in good shape. That comment there is a bit ott. Thats the best Coach in the NFL you are talking about. Yeah the D have not been great either but the way its went for Miami its just a day to forget really. Unfortunate that our regualar season streak is over but we expected that to happen at some stage this season anyways, especially after Tom Brady got injured.

Yes he is one of the best Head Coaches in the NFL but for fook sake throwing the ball too much and putting pressure on Cassell is ridiculous everyone else sees it but him Dude im a long time pats fan and stand by my team no matter what but right now offensively we are a fooking joke Use your backs more instead of forcing the pass. Cassell fumbled due to the fact every reciver was covered so he took off. Let your backs try pound it on the ground and ask yourself when are pats players never off the injury list? Lamont looked fine last week and the 3 carries he had today he looked fine. 31 attempted passes compared to 17 carries on the ground is ridiculous. For Tom Brady that was perfect but Cassell doesnt need that pressure.

He got sacked 4 times by the Dolphins.Where's your brilliant o-line and your fantastic defense that ye were on about?

Oh, Mr anti New England turns up when we lose our first game this season. I suppose you just looked up the stats as usual. How did you find out Google?

I said this about a week or two ago when Brady went down.Ye disagreed.I'm pointing to this game now as proof that I was right

Eh are you watching the game 2 of the sacks actually came because Cassell rolled out of the pocket twice and honestly the Patriots have been **** today anyway collectively.

So why dont you actually go watch the game instead of googling stats. Who do you support anyway?

I support the Eagles and why is he rolling out of the pocket? As it's collapsing, due to the poor o-line.Ye had to throw aswell.Maroney is out and ye were always down.

In fairness it's far too easy to rely on hindsight to prove your point

Felt sorry for the Bengals there, they deserved to get a win there.

Hey, just saw Vikings won! Excellent for them, delighted!

You werent right. Some of the crap you spouted was unbelieveable that I doubt even the biggest anti pat would agree with.

Teams with bad o-lines dont go 17-1 no matter who they have as their QB.

Colts in a bad way at the minute.

    Jags 1st and goal.

    4 minutes left.

    17-14 Jags.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,825 ✭✭✭Mikeyt086

As i type the Jags are 17-14 up on the Colts, away, with 3:49 to play and on 2nd and Goal.

This win could launch our season. Epic performances from Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew could prove every single person who predicted in this thread wrong! :p
