What games will certainly be in your hands come January 31st?

No ifs, buts or mabys, but the actual games you know you will have by January.

I know I will have PES, Saints Row and Littlebigplanet(probably ****, but it could also bring joy)

Games that I might get are topspin 3, Smackdown vs raw 2009, Fifa 2009 and MGS4.

i don't buy the hype to be honest. yet to see anything to really excite me about it....its not my sort of game on the outset, but i heard it could be the start of a new genre so ill have to see.

i was wondering will it be possible to like create something like sonic levels? i seen a killzone customisation, so would a sonic or crash bandicoot style levels be possible?

On one level, I think your enjoyment of LittleBigPlanet will come down to how creative you are. If you're not very creative or find it hard to think up and imagine levels, you might not get the best out of that aspect of the game.

But that's only half the game.

The other half is the sharing aspect. Because the LBP servers are not region locked, you will be able to download levels from crazy kids in Japan, Hong Kong, the U.S. and Canada etc. So if you find that you're a bit sh*t at the creation aspect, that won't matter so much because there'll be so much custom content available you can play someone elses levels. Sony have said that you won't be able to name your levels 'Sonic' or 'Mario', but you can still create levels based on those games, you just have to be a little careful with how you name those levels and don't use copyrighted images. I bet we'll see someone create every level from Super Mario Bros.

So yeah, LittleBigPlanet is definitely on my list. Valkyria Chronicles, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm, Resistance 2 and Motorstorm 2. From the PSN I'll be getting WipeOut HD (next week!) and Fat Princess if it comes out. On the 3rd party side Dead Space and Mirror's Edge are looking great. I'm going to wait for the January sales to pick up The Force Unleashed.

On the PSP side, I'll be getting Star Ocean 1 and 2. I think I'm going to import Final Fantasy: Dissidia, even though I won't have a clue what's going on half the time. Patapon 2 and LocoRoco 2 should be out by January so I'll be picking up those too.

Valkyria Chronicles looks fantastic alright. I love the cell shaded look. Whens it out?

Quantum of Solace might be good too. Its using the COD4 engine.

Play.com has a listing for November 14th, which is quite close to the US date of November 11th, so that could be correct. Edit: Sega UK website says November.

If Uncharted 2 is released in time, it'll be the only game that I will rush out to buy. Even COD5 won't set the pulse racing as its back to WW2 when they should have stuck to modern warfare.

Would have agreed with you re: COD5 but going by the previews and gameplay videos I've seen this could be something special. It's also been announced that Infinity Ward are re-taking the reins for COD6 (can't believe we're already talking about 6, doesn't seem that long ago I was playing the first one on my PC).

LBP - possibly
Resistance 2 - definitely
Naruto Ninja Storm - hells yeah!

Any other multiformat games will either be bought for the PC if they're an FPS, or the 360 for everything else

Killzone2 isn't due 'till Feb 2009...
