Can anyone tell me is there any router that can allow me to connect my usb modem directly to it so that my laptop, xbox, and pc can all connect to the web. I was told such a router exists but I cannot find one, surely with all the mobile broadband users out there its got to be available!

im not aware of such a router, but if you're running a wireless network at home you could look in to internet connection sharing (ICS). google will give you more results, and there's info on the xbox website regarding setting up a connection in this manner for it.

I already have ICS but only wired, I would like to have a wireless setup so I could get better use out of other devices. laptop etc.:(

well if you can't find a router that will do the job (and i don't think you will, mobile broadband modems need a UI to tell them to connect and it installs drivers which it can't do on to a router) you may as well get a standard wireless router and do it that way with ICS. you're still just buying a router but it will save you hunting for something i seriously doubt exists.

edit: found these, but the modems displayed are usb sticks, dunno if it's the same thing http://www.nucleusnetworks.co.uk/3g-router/billion-bipac-7402gxl.htm

    actually, found this: http://www.infoferenda.eu/index.php?product_id=1&page=shop.product_details&category_id=1&flypage=flypage.tpl&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=2&vmcchk=1&Itemid=2

apparently it's exactly what you're looking for, but be sure to check the model list to find out if your modem is compatible.

brilliant work, even after you doubted its existence. What search engine do you use . I could not find any, but then again I always look in the wrong places (porn sites):o

the result that gave me the answer is actually the third one on the list, from another thread on boards :D
