    Hi all,

I've just moved house in Mullingar. The peops who owned it had Chorus (lots of Chorus points/boxes in the rooms). From previous experience don't wanna go down that road. Not that interested in subscribing to sky either. (not much of a tv person) But I do have a regular sat dish on the house. Can I just buy a freeview box and get the normal 8 channels? I had a wander in the attic - few cables running to 2 way splitters and stuff - can i just run something from sat dish to point in the wall? Or do I need an aerial? if I need an aerial - does it need to be an outdoor one - presumably better signal if it's outside and all that. Maybe getting sky is the way to go. Any help or advice is appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Vanti

With a dish you will only get digital channels to are Free to Air e.g itv,bbc and loads of other stuff you wont get any irish channels.
Dont think it would make much difference whether you have aerial outside or in attic.

If you are running a sat dish to the splitters you would need a Box in each room and then whenever someone changes channel in one would change in all unless you have a twin or quad lnb from the dish meaning you would have 2 or 4 cables coming from dish and could access 2 or 4 channels at same time from different rooms.
