    Hi All

    Apologies in advance if this question has been asked before, i think i checked all the threads that looked likely.

    ok so i have to pick a new laptop for work, it just needs to be a basic laptop, nothing too hi tech or anything so im thinking the Vostro A860 or the Vostro 1710( probably surplus to requirement but im not paying).

    My boss' laptop runs on XP as does my desktop and ill need to be sending things to both so i need to know if "Genuine Windows® Vista™ Ultimate (SP1) with XP Pro installed and Vista & XP Media-English [add € 115.00 or €4/month1]"

    means that the laptop will run on XP and not vista.

    Apologies for my ignorance

    It means that it will run both and that both are supported by Dell.

    The system will have XP preinstalled and ready to go but you will also get a Vista DVD should you wish to install it in the future.

    Good flexibility from Dell in fairness...
