Anyone have any recommendations for the best and funniest SG-1 episodes? I'm watching through Atlantis with my girlfriend now and she'd like to see a few SG-1 episodes. Thanks.

well i liked Wormhole X-Treme the 100th show also the one with the guy who does Homers voice, I think that was called Citizen Joe. But maybe Iam just a saddo cos I love all SG 1, well my kids think I am a saddo anyway.

Favorite is " Window of Opportunity" see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Window_of_Opportunity_(Stargate_SG-1).
But most episodes have some classic banter and one liners by Jack.

For a long-term fan, I'd recommend "200" but you'd only get a lot of the jokes if you've been watching over the years. For humour and wit that you can immediately appreciate, I'd second "Window of Opportunity".

If it's action, more serious ones that you want there's a slew of them but most of them arc ones. I guess "1969" is probably your best bet in that case - pretty stand alone, lots of humour, a nice plot, and some great characterisation.

Personal favourites are 200 and Paradise Lost but I'd suggest Season 1 as a good place to start, most of which are certainly worth a look, although I might "skirt" Emancipation and ignore the likes of The First Commandment, Cor-Ai and Politics.

    I'm a huge fan of "Full Circle" (Season 6, Episiode 22) - http://www.gateworld.net/sg1/s6/622.shtml

    I also liked "Meridian", (Season 5, Episode 21) - http://www.gateworld.net/sg1/s5/521.shtml

For the Pure amount of times its referenced, you need to be sure and watch Singularity.

Warmest in my heart is Window of Opportunity. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Window_of_Opportunity_(Stargate_SG-1)

Might have something to do with the fact that he is a gobshíte.

Ah he wasnt that bad. He was in a role that couldnt be replaced. No one can replace Jack, and he did a decent job with what he had. I liked him (although i liked Farscape as well, so maybe i dont count)

"Threads", (Season 8, Episode 18 - http://www.gateworld.net/sg1/s8/818.shtml), is a good action packed episode. It is worth looking at.

The Fifth Race is a cool episode but Sky One/1 has ruined it for me by always having it on. Honestly, I only saw it again 2 weeks ago for the millionth time!

A few episodes that I like are as follows:

    - 1x08 - The Nox
    - 1x22 - Within the Serpent's Grasp
    - 2x01 - The Serpent's Lair
    - 3x15 - Pretense
    - 7x21 - Lost City (Part 1)
    - 7x22 - Lost City (Part 2)

I also agree about Ben Browder/ Cameron Mitchell; he’s a poor man's Jack O'Neill. If he wanted, Browder could have made the character much better but I’m sure he thought "I'll just mimic Jack O'Neill's character traits and I'll be fine".

He's the most monotonal character on tv.
Listening to him is like ".....diiiiiiiaaaaaalllllllllll.....thhhhheeeeeeee.....gaaaaaaate....."
    this is not shouting!
This is just how long it takes for him to say three words.
    And now i'm asleep
