    Hi everyone,

At the moment I'm working in company in IT, I 'm working in IT for 7 years now and I'm tired about this.
I still like my job but my problem is the people I'm working with (manager...) ;-) and all the politics arround it.

So I'm thinking about contracting instead of a permanent position.
I will need information arround this, if someone know where I can find information arround the tax, the company work with?

I hope I was clear enough in this post, I'm not a native english speaker.
    Thanks
    Superfly

Look through the many recruitment agencies , tell em you only want contracts , no permanent roles.
to get going when you have a contract the easy way is to set up through an 'umbrella company' , e.g. cxc , look em up but there are many more .
theyll charge a bit , i think a few hundred a month or a percentage of what you earn and they will set you up legally and pay your tax and basically hand you your payment per month so all the work is done.
    this is the easy way.
the other way is set up your own private limited company , this can cost a few hundred.
then unless you want to spend time doing your accounts and pay roll, pay an accountant to do it.
all in all its cheaper to setup your own company and use an accountant then to use the umbrella company way.
when i worked it out it was going to cost about 3000 a year for the umbrella company way and about 1500 for the own compnay and acountant way.
    all the best.

oh , if you hate the company politics bullsht , contracts of 6 months or less are the way to go!
only problem then is if you are out of work between contracts.

    Hi Bosscat,

Thanks a lot for all these information, I went to the cxc web site that answer to a lot of my questions, that really cool thanks a lot.

I don't really like the politic bull**** ;-) I have probably see too much of that lately, and the manager who knows nothing in IT because he comes from a business school, and don't have real notion and interest in IT... blablah... The true Bull****... Or else the other manager who believe ASP and ASP.NET are the same so during the interview everything is about ASP.NET but after a week you realyse the problem... I don't want any crap like that anymore.
At least, if there are any problem it will only for a couple of months. ;-)

For the break between contract, I have alrealdy tought about this, and I have a plan to keep me up-to-date the technology, and I'm considering to contract in Europe ;-), if I got any issue in Ireland, also a break of 3 month will leave me time for traveling. ;-)

    - Do you know by any changes the best umbrella company, and a best agency too in Dublin? Because I want to be able to trust the guys I'm working with. And so far I heard a lot about Agencies and nothing good...

If you want you can send me a PM, if you prefer.

    Cheers.

You will still meet the bullsht artists but at least you can leave at the end of your contract and you dont have to try to advance your career through them.
Agencies : I use them all , wherever there are jobs advertised , I have no favorites , sorry.
Umbrella , I only listed cxc as that was the only one I remembered , I set up my own company through a local accountant .
Oh , and I put my cv on monster.ie and irishjobs.ie , you get calls , some with jobs , some with none and I also look at irishjobs.ie for contracts.
    good luck.

    Hi Bosscat,

Thanks a lot for you feedback, it's really helpfull.
I like your way to think ;-) "the bull**** artist", there is unformatunately a bit of bull****, we have to live with.

And at least you don't need to convience them, we should do this or that, you do what you have been employ for and them you move on.

It sounds good tot me ;-)

    Cheers!!
