Forbes magazine's Top 10 Most Overpaid Actors In Hollywood

Forbes has their new list of the top 10 most overpaid actors in Hollywood. The way they do the ranking is by comparing how many dollars the actor's movie makes for every dollar the actor is paid.

1. Nicole Kidman ($1.00/dollar paid)
2. Jennifer Garner ($3.60/dollar paid)
3. Tom Cruise ($4.00/dollar paid)
4. Cameron Diaz ($4.00/dollar paid)
5. Jennifer Lopez ($4.10/dollar paid)
6. Jim Carrey ($4.11/dollar paid)
7. Nicolas Cage ($4.16/dollar paid)
8. Drew Barrymore ($4.38/dollar paid)
9. Will Farrell ($4.67/dollar paid)
10. Cate Blanchett ($4.97/dollar paid)


So from the above Nicole Kidman's films only make one dollar for every one she's paid, and so on.

Tom Cruise is a surprise considering how many blockbusters he's been in. Carrey stands out too. Although I think the fact that both go for royalty points as well as an upfront premium bumps them up the list.

Nicole Kidman's CV doesn't read that well IMHO, I've never understood why she's so famous (aside from being former Mrs. Tom Cruise)

I take it this is domestic box-office takings and not worldwide?
Also, this seems very biased towards big earning films and big names. Given that not all films make their budget back, I would expect a bunch of small time actors with ratios of <$1.00/dollar paid.

I'd be interested to see who the best value a-lister is.
Nicole Kidmann topping the list does not surprise me. I look at Bewitched, The Golden Compass, The Interpreter, The Invasion and the Stepford Wives which all did poorly (domestically at least) and her recent hit ration isn't good. Her only big hit in recent times was Happy Feet and she only did a voice for that.

That's true but I meant specifically domestically (I think the figures in the OP refer to domestic earnings only. I could be mistaken though).
