Looking for a media harddrive for playing videos and pictures on tv.
I was looking at getting an enclosure and drive separately. Like these:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=230289420659&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=013

    and

    Samsung S-ATAII 160GB 7200

    Samsung HD160JJ, Serial-ATA II 3Gbps
    7200rpm, 8MB cache
requires S-ATA controller, S-ATA data and S-ATA power cable!

    Euro 55.00 inc VAT

Anyone done this? Is it straightforward enough?
    Thanks

How about getting an Xbox from Game Stop for 20 euro, softmod it and install XBMC (Xbox Media Center)

either put a big internal hard drive in or a networked external hard drive with all your media files on it. XBMC will play more formats than an enclosure, and the Xbox hardware is faster. Also there's a DVD drive on it so you can play ur DVD disks through it too.

An xbox is only worth €20 now, I got a m8 to pick up 2 of them, they're €20 each in gamestop on Henry St. then mod it like in this thread.
