Firefox - New link not popping open?

    PC/XP Pro/Firefox.

I think I may have change something in my Firefox settings, but I don't know what.

    My problem is simply this.........

When I click on a web link, e.g. in the text of an email, Firefox does not pop open the link in a new window.

Instead, the Firefox icon in the taskbar starts flashing to highlight the fact that a new window has been created.

But, it doesn't open up on the screen.

How can I make it do this?

    Thanks.

    D.

Not sure what you have done - but as an addon, if you install "Linkification"
this will solve the problem of making all links active within Firefox.

    Hope that helps.

p.s. Tried rebooting the machine to see if it will clear the error?

    Thanks.

Annoyingly, if I choose the option "New pages should be opened in a new tab.", then a new window appears.

It's only the "New pages should be opened in a new window." that won't pop open the window.

Rebooting won't make any difference. This has been going on for a few weeks.

    Thanks again.

    D.
