Hi Ive been at this for about 8 months. Ive been running short distances, long distances, ive been doing circuits including push ups, squats, sit ups, tricep dips,
Im doing this to simply get fitter, look a bit better and over all feel a bit better.
My main problem is motivation. While I enjoy running and even pushing myself hard while doing it I really dont like anything else. I simply dont enjoy the process of going into the room and starting circuits, etc. Its a slight laziness thing, but mainly I find it boring. This is starting to cause me to slip out of the routine alot recently. Sometimes I feel like im going backwards(seeing a bit more bulge in the belly, arms losing muscle and just getting fat etc.

I have all the knowledge in the world regarding diet, routines, sets, reps, etc. But I just cant seem get motivated.
I find it shocking that when your on a good run and sticking to a good fitness routine you feel 100% all the time, yet its still so easy to give it all up and get lazy.
    Any tips?
Preferably from people that didnt like doing it in the past.
    Cheers

cheers i had a read through them and there is some motivating posts there alright. Although i guess I was looking for tips more on how to actually enjoy myself while doing it. Like music, challenges for myself, thoughts of upcoming competitions and setting records,
I am kind of looking for ideas of things people do just before going to the gym that makes them WANT to go.

e.g. when I go to do push ups , I have no problem pushing myself to feel a bit of pain and break that sweat, and i could do that every night running if I wanted, its just with everything else I get bored, which in turn puts me off going back to do it the next day.

Maybe the best tip is stop moaning and just do it!!!!!!

That tends to be the tried and trusted fail-safe method alright ;)

    Compete in something.

I trained for a sprint triathlon from Feb to July (basically taking myself from an unfit smoker to something resembling a fit person, oh and I learned to frontcrawl). Sticking to a plan keeps you focused although what really helped was having two mates enter it with me and the drive to beat them had me dragging my arse out the door when I really could have done anything else.

Great experiene doing a tri and I beat my mates :P
