Was sort of fearing this day, and today it finally arrived.

Only a matter of time before these people copped on. Where can you get large amounts of people in a confined space who can only leave at certain intervals? Public transport i.e buses

I get the bus into work/college everyday in the morning rush hour. Seats are full, people standing downstairs, the usual. I generally go upstairs cos there's always some ignorant arsehole there taking up two seats, who I promptly stare down until he moves his fat ass over. Today was no different.

Then I notice this girl walking up the stairs and handing out questionnaires. I was sitting down the back so she never got to me thankfully but the whole bus had an uncomfortable feel about it, even more than is common. Coming up, handing pieces of paper to people with pens attached, people grudgingly did them because they knew there was no escape. Now nowhere is safe.

The chuggers are gonna be on the buses, sitting down beside ya with their crusty ways. I thought I was safe on the bus from these people.

It was the 15B by the way, anyone else on other buses encounter this?

you could just say "sorry i dont want to partake"

    or

    " ich weiB nicht"

either should be quite effective :)

Dublin bus do carry out questionnaires like this occasionally.

If it looks like a chugger, smells like a chugger, then it is... a chugger

The only reason why this method would work is cause people wouldn't be able to just say no. They usually move on if you just say no

Yeah saw it on the 39N before, good show. I knew the guy with the poney tail would kick ass in the long run

That would piss me off - yes people can tell them to go away but you shouldnt have to be prey to these people when your using public transport. I have never seen that in any other country's public transport system. If there arent rules against it there should be imo.

Its almost adorable that Irish Culture still allows for that kind of behavior without said person being stabbed or mugged or raped. I'd tell you to start handing her back empty survey sheets full of penis doodles but its cool you guys have spare time for random strangers you encounter during your day. Compared to other metropoli thats saying something.

For added AH-ness, ask her if you can have her breast milk.

Tell them to feck off. Or if your feeling polite, say "no". Put on your headphones and carry on with your day. Simple as, it'll eventually stop if we all be really unhelpful.

I was a chugger for a day and a bit. I was one of those f*ckers selling scratch cards on Henry Street. I sold 7 in 10 hours :) Even after living the life of a chugger for a short period, I still give them none of my time. Get a real job or if that fails, have some pride and go on the dole!

Whip it out and threaten to shoot if she doesn't leave the bus...

(seriously though, who cares if she's handing out ****. only takes a couple of seconds out of your exciting bus journey to say no thank you).

    Lemme guess the H***** center?

Fair play for quitting. They're the most unprofessional bunch of tossers that i've ever met.

Them's the one. I was 16 when I did it, there were loads of us there the same age on the first day, all on school hols. Our "manager" (25-year-old loser) singled out one girl during our induction, asked her in front of everyone if she had a boyfriend, etc. By the end of the day when we had to meet back up at McD's on Grafton Street he was holding hands with her and feeling her up in front of us all . Funnily enough I was walking down Henry Street 3 years later and that guy was STILL doing the same job!
