What are music shops like for trade ins these days?

for example, if I wanted to trade an electric axe for a banjo? I haven't traded an instrument in ages, but am having no luck trying to sell it privately...

I had serious problems trying to sell an old tanglewood es335 copy for 70 euro, brought it into music maker and he gave me 150 euro off the sale price, not a bad deal at all. Wouldn't hurt to ask a few places in town!

i sold am amp to one of the shops in town and got 50 quid less than what i was sellin it for so its not as bad as people say. u mite be hard pushed to find one that take trades and sell banjos though cause not all shop do trade ins

im down in limk. disaster down here. I could try a few in cork or dublin. i must suss it out. flippin axe is gathering dust

Just don't try Insturmental, they're a bit of a rip off outfit. I was hard on for cash round a year ago and traded them an ESP KH-2 worth €1500 at least and all they gave me was €800.
