Hola, just got myself a soft tip board to pass a few hours in these lovely sunny evenings, a bit of variety from constantly playing steel tip. Anyone else play this variety? Getting used to the longer oche and lighter darts takes a bit of getting used to.

I have played soft tip granted it was about twelve or so years ago now. Still have the set of 16g darts. Was enjoyable for a while but the spectacular bounce outs that end up actually counting as scores pissed me off no end.

Seen lately that Lidl had an electronic soft tip board was going to buy one.

I also noticed that it took me longer to adjust to my steel tip darts after throwing the soft tip ones which put me off.

Plastic tipped darts are all the rage in the States, and you'll see many of the Professionals going over in the summer for the Bullshooter in Chicago. It is considered the World Championships of Soft-tipped Darts.

I have a friend from Mayo (who throws county) that finished 4th in the Mixed Doubles.

Bought the Lidl one myself last year when they had it, grand for 20 euro I suppose.

I play at the steel tip distance though, haven't seen many benefits from it apart from it counting the score for you and being able to play cricket and the like without having to mark it.
